4 Ways To Prepare For The Entrance & Scholarship Exam

4 Ways To Prepare For The Entrance & Scholarship Exam

St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute

Any important exam tends to be accompanied by a small amount of anxiety. And while the Entrance & Scholarship Exam is a critical step in deciding a student’s future, the right preparations can make the test feel less stressful. Here are our top 4 ways to prepare and make the Entrance & Scholarship exam feel less daunting and more doable.

1. Bring these items: Along with a confident attitude, students should arrive prepared at the test site with at least two sharpened pencils and a calculator.

2. Enforce a healthy routine: Be sure the test taker gets a good night of sleep the night prior to the test. The morning of the entrance exam, students should eat a balanced breakfast and arrive to the test site at least 15 minutes early.

3. Start studying early: Study in small increments each day leading up to the exam and plan for longer sessions in the week prior to the test date. Cramming a last minute, all-night study session is not an efficient way to prepare!

4. Mark your calendars: Save the date and set your alarms for the day of the Entrance & Scholarship Exam to prevent tardiness or a rushed start. Be sure to schedule time to attend a review session at your school(s) of choice prior to the exam. You can find the full schedule of review sessions below.

Keep these preparedness tips in mind as you gear up to take the entrance exam this fall! For more information on Catholic High Schools of Western New York and what to expect during the exam, be sure to attend an upcoming open house.
